Who We Are
The Superhero Origin Story
OK, so radioactive spiders didn’t bite us and we haven’t passed around the sun in a tiny space capsule. But our origin story is just as cool. Well, almost.
We hatched the idea for Coupons 4 Humanity in the spring of 2011 with a simple question: How do we get other people to come together to give to a growing body of amazing charities with passion and commitment? It’s an age-old problem that doesn’t seem to have a simple answer. Alas! We found one. By offering you deep discounts on great products and services through our online daily deals, and contributing a portion of each coupon sold to charity, people choose to give without even sweating it! Thus, Coupons 4 Humanity was born! Or, as we at the proverbial office like to call it, “C4H.”
Our philosophy is simple enough, yet it drives us at our very core. When we conceptualized C4H, we did so with charities, you, the consumer, and charity-friendly businesses in mind. As such, our philosophy, “Everyone Wins,” perfectly sums us up. When you buy one of our coupons, not only do you benefit from an awesome deal, but so do big-hearted local businesses, and needy charities. You get a sweet deal, local businesses earn your support and trust, and charities get the cash they need to keep doing Superman-like good for your community. In essence, EVERYONE WINS!
Here’s the deal, we won’t sell anything we don’t like ourselves. ANYTHING. That means if we list a coupon 4 humanity that gives you 50% off your very own shark with a laser beam attached to its head, then yeah, we’re fans of that company’s sharks and said laser beam accoutrement (stay tuned for this one!). Bottom line: If we offer a product or service, it’s legit.
The Peeps That Make The Magic Happen
Sheryl Best, aka “The Motivator”
Best was born in Hollywood, California surrounded by an eclectic group of supporters, friends and family alike.
Following a brief (read:  non-existent) stint as a member of the Jackson 5, her parents encouraged her to vigorously pursue interests in public speaking, leadership, and performing arts.  Her parents’ encouragement drove her to excel. She graduated from high school in North Hollywood and soon after began her college career while simultaneously taking the reigns running a restaurant on the famous Sunset Strip, where it’s rumored she originated the idea for the Internet.
In 1998 she moved to Las Vegas to finish school at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). While at UNLV, Sheryl met her current husband of 16 years. The two soon thereafter married and had their first child. Â Becoming a wife and mother were significant milestones in Sheryl’s life that drove her to pursue her entrepreneurial dreams in 1998 when she started Corporation Makers, Inc., a company devoted to helping incorporate other small businesses. Â She has successfully run Corporation Makers ever since.
Sheryl then branched out into philanthropy, positively impacting her community with a local Las Vegas After-School Program offered free of charge to at-risk students in her area.  But this was just the start.
After sitting on numerous charitable committees over the years and experiencing the power of giving, Sheryl decided it was her turn to make a huge difference by jumping head first into the newest trend in business: Online daily deals. Sheryl knew the combination of great deals on great products with a portion of the profits going to great charities was sure to be a winner for everyone. The idea for Coupons 4 Humanity was born.  She currently serves as C4H’s Top Dawg.  And yes, she’s got the cool factor to match the title.
Daniel Feldman, aka “Dan the Man”
Daniel Feldman co-founded Coupons 4 Humanity with Sheryl Best and Jason Soto in 2011. He serendipitously joined the team when he offered to write a few articles for Sheryl to earn a ticket to a ballroom dance event she was hosting.  His writing made her swoon. OK, maybe not. But she loved his work so much, she might as well have swooned.
Today, Dan serves as the company’s Chief Creative Executive, though he prefers “Creative Artistic Guru Dude.” In this capacity, he directs the creative department, where he shares day-to-day responsibility for managing and directing C4H’s creative and artistic endeavors.
Dan is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, where he was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Middle East and North African Studies with a minor in Arabic. Upon graduation, Dan attended Air Force Undergraduate Pilot Training, earning his pilot wings and FAA Commercial Pilot License. He has logged over 1,000 hours in six different aircraft types, including two jets and one, slightly-used, time-traveling Delorean. He is an avid reader, writer, party rocker (whatever that means), and competitive ballroom dancer.  He’s single and ready to mingle, but only if you make a mean latke!
Jason Soto, aka “Sotomoto”
Jason is one of the coolest dudes you’ll ever meet. At first glance, you may think he subsists entirely on Hot Pockets and Mountain Dew, but don’t be fooled; he fully embodies the fun, unique, mentality we have here at C4H. With his rockin’ personality, quick wit, and thorough understanding of the marketing world, Jason’s got it all! To boot, he brings an incredible wealth of knowledge and experience to the table that is wholly unmatched. He presently serves as C4H’s Chief Marketing Officer.
Jason started his career studying communications at San Diego State University and the Covey Institute of Leadership. He soon after began working as a network design engineer in 1992 designing for Craig McCaw (CellularOne), a pioneer in the mobile telephone industry. Prior to launching Social Liquid in 2008, Jason served as Director of Marketing & Research with The Selling Source, a Fortune Top 100, micro-lending and Internet marketing firm. Jason specialized in emerging technology initiatives for Fortune 1000 companies and was instrumental in the integration of forward thinking product marketing strategies for DirecTV, Microsoft, Samsung and Mobil-SpeedPass. Most recently, Jason’s team launched a global Internet affiliate marketing campaign focused on lending products for Media Funding Corp., which resulted in $22 million in additional revenue the first 19 months. Over the past 12 years, Jason has been a key contributor to the Southern Nevada Development Authority (NDA), attracting well-known technology companies to the Las Vegas marketplace to build up Las Vegas as the next big tech city. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Las Vegas Interactive Marketing Association (LVIMA).
Jason’s drive to create and utilize more intuitive marketing products continues with his involvement with Coupons 4 Humanity. Bottom line, this dude’s cool, smart, fun, and the real deal. Sorry ladies, he’s happily married with four awesome kids!
Dee Clark, aka “The Angel”
Dee Clark, the beauty with a heart of gold, was born in Germany to a military family. Her father was the first American-born child in his family, born to Mexican immigrants, and her mother was born and raised in England. This unique background lends a cultural perspective that bolsters the C4H team.
She grew up in Northern California and attended De Anza College in Cupertino, CA where she majored in Auto Mechanics, and may or may not have dated Steve Jobs  (from a distance). She began working as a mechanic to pay her way through college.  She then worked for Pontiac Motor Division as a District Service Manager out of the Los Angeles area where she met Pat Clark, Jr., owner of Nevada Beverage Co and Pat Clark Pontiac.  Two years later, Dee moved to Las Vegas and the two married.
Dee’s passions include cute, fuzzy animals, children in need, the arts, and spending time with her three children.
Currently, Dee is an avid ballroom dancer, ranked second top female student in the United States in 2011.  She’s working incredibly hard this year toward earning the Championship and her place in ballroom history.
Dee’s active role in C4H is a testament to her belief in the team and the philosophy of Coupons 4 Humanity. She hopes to guide the C4H team to success as an advisor and board member.
